JUSTICE is coming!

We've got our lines memorized, our blocking down, are moving into the wonderful Mid-City Theater and all that's missing is YOU! The Pursuit of Justice is LOUD's second full-length play entirely written by our youth ensemble. It focuses on the stories of five young people who all attend the same community Gender and Sexuality Alliance in the days leading up to a fateful event. Their experiences are funny, romantic, enraging and real as they discover what it means to stand in solidarity with each other. The Pursuit of Justice will be performed at the Mid City Theater (3540 Toulouse Street) onMay 15, 16, and 17 at 8 PM. The Pursuit of Justice is only one of TWO fabulous queer youth theater offerings happening in the same month! The week immediately after LOUD presents its play, our community partners at BreakOUT! present their production, Say My Name, Say My Name! Using the elements of storytelling, movement, and social theatre, Say My Name, Say My Name: Stories of NOLA LGBTQ Youth documents five different perspectives of growing up Black and transgender in the incarceration capital of the world, New Orleans, Louisiana. A tool for community healing and cultural expression, as well as a movement building strategy, Say My Name touches upon many shared experiences of New OrleansLGBTQ youth of color such as family relationships, police profiling, suicide, and love. Guaranteed to leave a smile on your face and thoughts in your head, Say My Nameis a labor of love, placing ourselves in positions of power and affirming our stories and our collective history as valuable. Directed by Sara Zatz and Mieke Dee, Say My Name is part of Ping Chong + Company's "Undesirable Elements" project and has been performed in Jackson, MS, Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY- but is finally coming HOME to New Orleans, LA.
